Newcastle-based Alpha Delta Brewing launches Roca, their first-ever core cask beer.
Alpha Delta has had a number of requests for their beers in cask following limited special releases but felt now was the right time to launch one in their core range.
Ross Holland, founder and head brewer at Alpha Delta said “We are really excited to launch Roca as part of our permanent cask range. It is something we definitely needed to add to our beer selection as each time we have produced a guest beer in cask it has always been really well received. More of our customers have asked for our beers in cask and it is great to see such a demand for this.”
“We have been working hard behind the scenes to develop this beer. We really wanted something that represented what we are about. Full of flavour but, not too challenging. A pint that has you coming back to the bar for another! We really feel this could be a staple on bars not just in the North East but across the UK”

The beer
Roca is a double dry hopped (DDH) pale ale brewed with a combination of Citra, Comet and Mosaic hops. The cask beer has lovely full aromas and flavours of grapefruit and stone fruits, and at 4.2% is a very sessionable pint. The beer is also unfiltered and unfined so has a natural haze and is vegan-friendly.
Roca launch
Roca launches on Friday 7th April with the beer pouring first at the following venues:
- The Bridge Tavern (Newcastle)
- The Ship Isis (Sunderland)
- Foleys Tap House (Leeds)
- Hope & Union (Stockton)
- The Three Legged Mare (York)
- The Last Drop Inn (York)
