The Fellowship of Beer Reaches First Subscription Milestone

The unique craft beer subscription offered by Steam Machine Brewing Company has recently reached a significant milestone, surpassing its initial target of 100 subscribers. This achievement has prompted the opening up of another 100 spots for beer enthusiasts eager to join The Fellowship of Beer.

The Fellowship of Beer stands out as a community-led subscription box where members actively participate in the creation process. From voting on bespoke ingredients and contributing to label design, subscribers are deeply involved in shaping their beer experience. This approach reflects the brewery’s commitment to showcasing the diverse world of craft beer.

Founded in 2015 by husband and wife duo Nick & Gulen Smith, Steam Machine Brewing Company has prioritised direct relationships with consumers over mass supply deals. Their dedication to craft beer extends beyond mere production, emphasising artisanal techniques and unique flavour profiles in everything they do. The brewery’s close ties with its local community, which comprises half of its original subscribers, highlight the success of its consumer-centric approach.

Nick Smith, co-founder and head brewer, serves as the guiding force behind The Fellowship of Beer, ensuring that each subscription box offers something truly special. Members can actively engage with the brewing process, whether by visiting the brewery, suggesting recipes, or participating in communal foraging trips for ingredients.

What’s in the box?

The first subscription box, curated with input from Fellowship members, features an enticing selection of premium beers. From Birch-Smoked Grodziskie to Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, each beer reflects the diverse tastes and preferences of the community.

Looking ahead, The Fellowship of Beer continues to innovate, with members suggesting and voting on future beer concepts. Collaborations with industry leaders like Charles Faram and local foraging trips are some of the exciting prospects on the horizon.

As Sean Mckeown, a Fellowship subscriber and Beer Club Podcaster, aptly puts it, “This is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in the world of craft beer.” With The Fellowship of Beer now open to a further 100 subscribers, beer enthusiasts have the opportunity to join this thriving community and embark on a journey of discovery.
