Still undecided how to spend the final day of the year? Whilst a few great options have already sold out (By The River Brew Co., Wylam Brewery), there are still some fantastic places to see in 2019, and to start Tryanuary with an appropriately beery bang!
Anarchy Brew Co.
Free entry | 6pm – 10pm
Since moving to its new home in Newcastle earlier this year, Anarchy Brew Co. has been going from strength to strength. If you missed out on the amazing launch party, this should be high on your ‘to do’ list. There’ll be 10+ beers on sale, a food truck if you’re feeling peckish, and a DJ in the tap room, too. You’ll find the brewery near to Walkergate station, and with Metro services running until 11pm, this is a great option for starting your night off!

The Cluny
Free entry | 6pm – 3am
The Cluny‘s beer options have been fantastic this year, with a Wylam special for the Slack Babbath gig earlier this month, Brew York‘s Goose Willis paired with a screening of Die Hard for xmas, and even beer-battered cod made with Magic Rock‘s Salty Kiss on the food specials. Having spent many NYE nights propping the bar up in here, we can definitely recommend their New Year Blowout!
This year DJs Darren Laws & Don Hoolio are in the main bar from 6pm, then you’ll also find DJs in the venue from 11.30pm (Don Hoolio & Michael Heaven). Want more? You can buy tickets for the Grafteoke NYE Extravaganza No.3 which takes place in the venue from 6pm – 11pm (more info here).

Tyne Bank Brewery
Free entry | 12 noon – 2am
Looking for a child-friendly and dog-friendly option for New Year’s Eve? Check out Tyne Bank Brewery‘s tap room, which also has an overnight parking option if you change your mind about being sensible on the night and want to enjoy the DJs until late. Beer-wise, there’s a great selection of Tyne Bank brews, including Portrait of a Lady in cask (a panna cotta white stout). Non beer-wise, they’ve also got party food and half price bubbly. We’d also recommend paying The Free Trade Inn a visit as it’s only a short walk between the two (it’s open 11.30am – late).
