Step into history this spring at the Blackfriars Beer Festival, from May 23rd – 25th in Newcastle’s historic Cloister Garden at Blackfriars Restaurant & Brewery. Set within a 13th-century friary, this three-day event will bring together some of the region’s top craft breweries, including Almasty, Vaux, Two By Two, Flash House, Hadrian Border, Wear Bear and Twice Brewed, plus a guest pop-up from Barney’s Beer in Edinburgh, alongside St Dominic’s, Blackfriars’ own brewery.

Visitors can enjoy a vibrant mix of modern and traditional beers, street food hot off the Blackfriars BBQ, and live acoustic music from local artist David Stoker. The festival is dog-friendly, all-weather, and rooted in the medieval tradition of community beer events known as ‘Church Ales’.

Blackfriars Beer Festival Times:

Friday 23 May, 5-10pm 

Saturday 24 May, 12-10pm 

Sunday 25 May, 12-8pm.

Tickets cost £9.50 and include a festival brochure, a branded schooner, and your first beer from St. Dominic’s. £1 from every ticket will be donated to the Newcastle United Foundation.
